Wrinklers Beach (T 114) commences on the southern side of the Shelly Point rocks and trends south-southwest for 1.9 km to the mouth of Scamander River. The beach is backed by a 100-150 m wide zone of vegetated hummocky dunes, then the Tasman Highway, with Wrinklers Lagoon backing the northern half of the beach and highway. The small 15 ha lagoon occasionally breaks out across the centre of the beach. The town of Scamander commences on the southern side of the highway extending for 1.5 km south to the river. The beach is well exposed to southerly waves, which maintain a rip-dominated surf zone with up to eight rips spaced every 200-300 m along the beach. There is a car park and camping area on the northern side of the inlet with foot access across the dunes to the beach.
Beach Length: 1.9km
General Hazard Rating: 6/10
