The main beach (T 111) extends west-southwest of the foreland for 3.2 km to a cluster of rocks. It is dominated by a rip-dominated 100 m wide surf zone with a deep longshore trough forming during periods of higher waves and up to 12 rips flowing across the bar. The beach is backed by a 100-200 m wide band of vegetated transgressive dunes, which are part of the Scamander Conservation Area. The small Yarmouth Creek reaches the rear of the centre of the beach and occasionally breaks out across the beach, with the holiday settlement of Beaumaris spread along the highway either side of the creek. There is beach access in the north and on the northern side of the creek mouth.
Beach Length: 3.2km
