The southern section of Lagoons Beach (T 131) continues south of the 500 m long unstable inlet mouth for 2.8 km to northern side of Piccaninny Point. Waves averaging up to 1.5 m continue along the beach, decreasing slightly to the lee of the point with up to 12 rips forming along the beach. It is backed by a low semi-stable foredune then an elongate wetland associated with the inlet, three central creeks and the southern Piccaninny Creek which breaks out through the dune-backed southern end of the beach. There is vehicle access off the Tasman Highway to Piccaninny Point with a walk through the dunes to the beach.
