Beach T 51 commences on the western side of the boundary rocks and curves to the southwest for 1.8 km to the sandy foreland in lee of the Red Rocks, an inshore granite reef. This is one of the higher energy east coast beaches, with waves averaging up to 1.5 m which maintain a well developed bar and rip system, with usually several rips spaced about every 250 m.
