Beach T 1121 commences at the 50-100 m wide sandy entrance to the River Forth and trends to the north for 700 m as a narrow sandy high tide beach, fronted initially by widening river mouth shoals, then rock flats widening around the northern boundary point. However, the deep river channel and tidal current parallel the beach. The entire beach is backed by a tree-covered recreation reserve, then the Leith community. Waves are usually low and run along the shore moving sediment toward the river mouth.
