Beach T 903 is a dynamic shifting beach that partially blocked the river mouth. The protruding 500 m long beach begins in the river mouth and protrudes towards the entrance before curving round to the west to attach to the rocky shore at its western end. It is a wide beach backed by a low grassy foredune and fronted by shallow river mouth shoals that extend south to the channel and west 500 m into the high surf. The inner beach borders the deep river channel with its strong flows while the exposed outer beach faces into the high surf with rips, river flows and to the west scattered rocks in the inner surf. The beach is destabilised by the river flow, floods and the shifting river mouth bar.
