Pollys Bay beach (T 877) is located in the small bay between the next two small sandy reef-tied forelands (Fig. 4.176). The 400 m long beach curves between the forelands and faces west across a nearshore dominated by shallow reefs, which lower waves to less than 1 m at the shore and usually maintain a steep reflective beach. Higher waves break over the continuous reefs with a ‘lagoon’ between the reefs and shore. The foredune widens from 600 to 800 m by the northern end of the beach. There are some blowouts in the outer foredune with older ridges to the rear.
Beach Length: 0.4km
General Hazard Rating: 4/10
