Forwards Beach (T 1011) commences on the eastern side of the sandy river mouth and trends east-northeast for 3 km to the beginning of the rocky cape. This is a similar beach with wind waves averaging about 1 m and maintaining a 150 m wide ultradissipative inner low tide terrace, then two shore-parallel outer bars, the outer 400 m seaward of the high tide beach. The beach is backed by a well developed series of 10 foredune ridges up to 500 m wide in the centre, then the drained 700 m wide Forwards Plain. The outer ridges and beach are part of a coastal reserve. There is vehicle access off the Rocky Cape Road at the eastern end, with a vehicle track running along the ridges to the river mouth.
Beach Length: 3km
