Beach RI 5 commences at the base of Little Bluff and curves to the east-southeast for 2.3 km to the base of the 30 m high Big Bluff. A single bar dominates this final section of beach. It is usually cut by five rips as it gradually narrows from 150 to 50 m, in response to decreasing wave height in lee of the point. The beach is backed by a low foredune then grassy slopes gradually rising to 30-40 m. A farm is located on the cleared crest of Big Bluff above the eastern end of the beach.
