Beach RI 3 extends from the north side of 100 m wide Bird Point, north for 2.1 km to the western side of the low bedrock that forms the 800 m wide northern tip of the island known as Shooting Gallery. The high tide beach is low, narrow and faces west across sand flats that widen from 1 km at Bird Point to 2 km in the north in response to tidal flows between Robbins and Walker islands. Partly vegetated mudstone slopes back the beach, rising to 20-30 m, while a vehicle track around the northern tip reaches the northern end of the beach.
