Mosquito Inlet separates Walker from Robbins Island and is dominated by a deep channel, strong tidal currents and extensive sand flats. Beach WI 10 commences at the northern entrance to the inlet and trends to the southwest for 1.5 km to Egging Point and the boundary with beach WI 1. The beach faces southeast across the inlet, which is 800 m wide at the entrance then opens into the 600 ha inlet, which backs the northern end of the long Back Banks beach on Robbins Island (RI 5). The beach is backed by 300 m wide transgressive dunes along its northern end then the low sand plain down to Egging Point. It receives low waves through the inlet, which maintain a reflective high tide beach and 50-100 m wide sand flats fronted by the 100 m wide deep tidal channel and its strong currents. The vehicle track runs along the rear of the central section of the beach.
Beach Length: 1.5km
