The beach commences in the south at the mouth of the small Sundown Creek, which flows out against the northern rocks of the point. Beach T 894 trends due north from the creek mouth for 1 km to a linear rock ridge which extends off the beach and marks the beginning of a 500 m long section of rock reefs. Waves are lower in the southern corner where they maintain a single transverse bar and rip system, then rapidly rise to the north with as well a double bar at the northern end. The inner 80 m wide surf zone is usually cut by three rips, which increase in size to the north. Vegetated transgressive dunes widen from 100 to 500 m at the north end.
