Beach RI 9 lies 200 m west of the tip of the cape and is a 200 m long strip of high tide sand and cobbles that faces southeast out of the passage across 200 m wide sand and rock flats. Waves begin breaking at the cape, refract around the point and are lowered to about 0.5 m at the beach with a left-hand surf break off the cape. Cleared farmland backs the cape and beach.
