Beach T 981 commences on the northern side of Cable Point and trends to the north as a double crenulate cobble beach for 400 m. It is fronted by 200-300 m wide shallow rock flats and reefs, together with patches of sand. Waves averaging about 1 m break over the reefs with usually low wave to calm conditions at the shore. It is backed by a low sand and cobble ridge, then farmland. Beach T 982 occupies the next embayment 500 m to the north. It is a 250 m long west-facing cobble and sand high tide beach fronted by shallow 200 m wide rock flats, with waves averaging less than 1 m and breaking out over the reefs. It is separated from beach T 981 by a 300 m long series of cobble ridges that form a small cobble foreland.
