Beaches T 985-987 are located in a series of three crenulations within the first embayment commencing at North Point and trending to the southeast for 1.2 km. Beach T 985 occupies the first small crenulation and is a curving 100 m long strip of high tide cobbles fronted by rock reefs extending up to 300 m offshore. Beach T 986 lies immediately to the east in the next curving 150 m long crenulation and is a similar high tide cobble beach to the lee of the continuous reef. Beach T 987 continues southeast for 500 m to the end of the embayment where it is bordered by a low basalt boulder point that protrudes 200 m seaward. All three beaches face northeast and receive wind waves averaging 1-1.5 m, which break across the 100-300 m wide shallow rock flats and reefs. They are backed by continuous cobble-boulder ridges, with a 100 m wide series of older ridges behind, then cleared farmland.
Beach Length: 0.5km
