Beach T 869 is a 700 m long southwest-facing beach bordered by low rocks to the south and a small linear 100 m long islet to the north that forms a sandy foreland to their lee. The beach is partly sheltered by the extensive outer reefs with waves averaging 1-1.5 m and breaking across a 50 m wide continuous bar drained by rips to each end and occasionally a central rip. The beach widens to the foreland in front of a grassy foredune. The Possum and No Mans creek converge to drain across the beach in lee of the foreland helping to maintain the wide sandy back beach. The foredune is backed in turn by older vegetated transgressive dunes, with the Sandy Cape track located 1 km to the east, while a sidetrack follows an older dune ridge to overlook the junction of the two creeks.
