South of the lagoon entrance are 2 km of 50-60 m high cliffed coast extending from Pipe Clay Point to Cape Deslacs. Beach T 406 is located 500 m south of Pipe Clay Point and consists of a curving east-facing 100 m long high tide cobble beach, fronted by a sandy low tide terrace. It is backed by steep bluffs rising to 30 m then cleared sloping farmland.
