The Spit is a 300 m long east-trending cobble ridge located 500 m south of the eastern side of the point inside Ralphs Bay. Two beaches are located either side of the spit and converge at its tip (Fig. 4.76). Beach T 425 occupies the northern side and is a curving 300 m long northeast-facing high tide sand and cobble beach fronted by 50 m wide sand flats. It links at the tip of the cobble spit to beach T 426, which trends to the southwest, facing southeast down the bay. It is 250 m long and composed of high tide sand and cobble with sand flats extending 100 m into the bay.
