Beach T 401 continues on the south side of the rocks for 800 m to a slight reef-tied foreland, with waves breaking over the shallow reef. The beach has a continuous low tide terrace, with waves decreasing slightly to the lee of the reef. The Lauderdale Yacht Club is located towards the northern end of the beach, with a drainage reserve for a small creek in the centre and a Girl Guides camp behind the southern end and beachfront houses in lee of the foreland.
