Beach T 1221 occupies the final curving embayment to terminate at the northern tip of West Sandy Point. The 1.3 km long northeast-facing beach is fronted by a continuous sandy low tide bar and seafloor, which grades into deeper reef 200-400 m offshore, together with boundary rock flats and reefs to either end. Densely vegetated transgressive dunes back the beach and extend 500-1,000 m across the rear of the point to the bay shore.
