Beach 16 extends along the eastern base of a point for 150 m, as a sandy reflective beach bordered by the rock platforms of the point, with a central rock outcrop. The Little Musselroe Road terminates at the southern end of the beach, with a track out to the rear of the point and down to a boat ramp at the inlet.
Swimming
The only safe beaches on the western side of the island are the northern Mitlers and Snug Coves. The exposed beaches are all extremely hazardous, with large waves, permanent rips and some reefs.
Surfing
The best chance is at False Creek, with some point breaks also off Carrington Point and Mitlers Cove. However, local knowledge is essential.
Fishing
There are good beach rips at False Creek, while rock fishing is extremely hazardous on the western side.
General
A dramatic, high energy section of shore, in places impossible to safely access.
