Long Point Beach (FI 46) is a relatively straight 4 km long beach that faces due east toward Prime Seal Island (Fig. 4.300). It is a 20 m wide moderately steep high tide beach, usually littered with seagrass debris, which is fronted by intertidal sand flats that widen from 100 m in the south to 300 m in the north, with seagrass meadows beyond. It is backed by a continuous low grassy foredune grading into scrub-covered overwash flats, which are cleared in the centre, with the 1 km wide intertidal flats backing the southern half of the point. The beach is accessible in the centre and south along the gravel Long Point Road.
