Killiecrankie Bay beach (FI 112) extends northwest of the shallow sandy creek mouth for 1.9 km to the beginning of the northern rocky shore. The southern half of the beach is continuous and usually has a low tide terrace, cut by a few rips during periods of higher waves. The northern half is fringed by rock reefs, with the sandy bay floor beyond. It terminates in lee of a small reef-tied sand foreland. The entire beach is backed by vegetated transgressive dunes that have migrated up to 1.2 km inland and to heights of 40 m. A couple of stabilising blowouts are located behind the centre of the beach.
Beach Length: 1.9km
General Hazard Rating: 5/10
