Egg Beach consists of two patches of high tide sand (FI 102 and 103) located either side of a low granite point and reefs that extend 500 m to the southwest. The narrow Egg Beach Coastal Reserve runs around the point and includes the two beaches. The southern beach (FI 102) is a 50 m long pocket of high tide sand wedged deep inside a narrow rocky embayment, with dense vegetation of the backing slopes growing down to the rear of the beach. It is fronted by a 50 m wide rocky channel, with seagrass growing along the seabed. The northern beach (FI 103) lies 500 m to the northwest and is a steep 80 m long sand and cobble high tide beach, bordered by granite rocks, and facing into the more open northern side of the point. A mixture of rocks, seagrass and patches of sand lie off the beach. It is backed by some low wind-blasted vegetation, with a 4WD track running behind the beach.
