Bellbuoy Beach (T 1190) commences on the eastern side of the 100 m wide, 10 m high, boundary cobble-basalt headland and curves slightly to the northeast for 1.6 km to Four Mile Bluff. The beach consists of a continuous narrow high tide cobble beach, a 150 m wide intertidal bar, grading in deeper water into the continuous rocky seabed. A steep continuous 10-15 m high vegetated foredune then the older vegetated Holocene and Pleistocene transgressive dunes extend up to 3 km inland, now all cleared for farmland. The small Bellbuoy Beach subdivision of about 20 houses is located behind the southern corner of the beach, where the beach is also used for launching small fishing boats. British Creek, which drains the backing Pleistocene dune field, flows across the northern end of the beach.
