Black Rock Point is a 30 m high headland composed of Devonian marine metasediments. Beach T 1203 is located along its relatively straight northeast-facing eastern side. The beach extends for 800 m along the base of the vegetated slopes of the point and consists of a narrow high tide cobble-boulder beach fronted by 50 m wide intertidal rock flats.
