Beach T 148 is the main beach extending for 1 km along the northern section of the bay. It faces east, receiving waves averaging over 1 m, which maintain a low tide terrace, cut by rips during higher waves. A vehicle track reaches the slopes above the northern end of the beach where a few holiday shacks are located, with dense vegetation backing the remainder. A small rock outcrop separates it from beach T 149, which continues along the mid-section of the bay for another 200 m, to the beginning of a steep rocky section. It usually has a low tide terrace, with a rip draining to the south during higher waves. It is backed by scarped bedrock slopes, which rise steeply to Tar Hill.
