Rice Beach (T 146) is located in a small east-facing rocky bay on the southern side of Bicheno. The 100 m long beach faces east out of the bay and receives low refracted waves averaging about 0.5 m. The waves surge up a moderately steep reflective beach composed of coarse sand and gravel, with several large rock outcrops along the beach. It is backed by vegetated slopes and houses.
