Lisdillon Beach (T 227) is a curving, southeast-facing 800 m long moderately exposed beach located between the southern side of Boags Point and the wave-washed Mitchells Reef, which marks the shifting mouth of the Lisdillon Lagoon (Fig. 4.39). The beach usually has a continuous bar with wave height, bar width and the chance of rips increasing to the north. It is backed by an unstable foredune, then a 500 m wide series of 5-6 hummocky foredunes, which have prograded parallel to the inlet, resulting in an elongate lagoon. The lagoon has an area of 100 ha, and its mouth variously shifts to either side of Mitchell Reef, which it ties to the shore with a sandy tombolo.
