Maddons Cove is located 4 km south of Seaford Point and on the northern side of 500 m long Point Bailly. Beach T 238 is located at the apex of the 500 m wide cove and faces east, and is protected from southerly waves by the point. The 150 m long beach consists of a steep high tide cobble beach fronted by a narrow inter- to subtidal sandy beach, with waves averaging less than 1 m. It is bordered by the rocky shores of the cove and backed by cleared farmland.
