Beach T 228 commences on the southern side of the boulder-strewn reef and curves to the southeast, then south for 700 m terminating against a low rocky shore. The beach receives moderate waves, which maintain a narrow bar, usually cut by a northern rip against the reef and at times a central beach rip. It is backed by a small foredune then cleared farmland with some farm buildings behind the northern end of the beach, adjacent the lagoon mouth. A fence line crosses the northern end of the beach.
