Beaches MI 9 and 10 are two adjoining low energy northwest-facing beaches located immediately west of Goodstone Point, a small dolerite point with cobble deposits to either side. The point is largely composed of gravel and has been quarried in the past. Beach MI 9 is a narrow 300 m long low energy reflective beach, with seagrass growing to within 20 m of the shore. It is backed by a narrow scarped grassy foredune, then an infilled lagoon that extends east to the lee of beach MI 10. A small rocky point separates the two beaches, with beach MI 10 trending to the northeast for 350 m to the rocky Goodstone Point. This is a similar narrow low energy beach, with seagrass right offshore and shallow sand and rock flats surrounding the point. A low grassy terrain backs it, with the gravel quarry excavated in the foredune towards the point.
