Front Beach (T 222) extends southwest of Buxton Point for 1 km to the smaller Horrels Point which also forms the northern head of the Buxton River mouth. The beach is exposed to southerly waves which average just over 1 m and maintain a low tide terrace to transverse bar and rip system, with normally two central beach rips and rips to each end. It is backed by a 50-100 m wide foredune containing several vegetated blowouts, then the farmland.
