Windlass Bay beach (T 258) is a low energy 400 m long south-facing strip of high tide sand and cobbles, fronted by shallow seagrass-covered sand flats, with a widening patch of clear intertidal sand towards the western end. Cleared low gradient slopes back the beach, with a small creek crossing the eastern end and a woodchip mill and some holding ponds on the western Freestone Point.
