Plain Place Beach (T 253) is a 2.6 km long east-facing sandy beach, bordered by steeply sloping grassy headlands. It is backed by a continuous foredune, containing many small blowouts and an area of now stabilising dune transgression in the south. The dune is breached by two creeks and backed by a cleared infilled wetland along the northern-central section, which grades into shallow 20 ha Okehampton Lagoon in the south. The beach receives waves averaging about 1 m, which usually maintain a low tide terrace, with up to 12 rips forming during periods of higher waves.
