Hopetoun Beach (T 520) occupies the centre of the western shore of the bay. The narrow low energy west-facing beach is fronted by 100 m wide sand flats and backed by several beachfront houses. It is bordered in the north by the small mouth of Bates Creek and a cluster of low rocks to the south. Several boats are usually moored off the beach.
