Beach T 560 continues southeast of the foreland for another 500 m to the mouth of Cockle Creek (Fig. 4.97). The road runs along the rear of the beach and across the bridge at the creek mouth. The backing low hummocky foredunes have been partly cleared and there is a camping area in the north, together with several holiday shacks in the centre and toilets and an historic cemetery. The creek backs the southern half of the 100-200 m wide low barrier. This is the main bay beach and has usually calm conditions with only occasional low swell. A few boats are usually moored in the bay just off the beach.
