Hidden Bay is located between New Harbour Point and Middle Bluff. The 1 km wide bay has an 800 m long beach (T 606) occupying the western side of its northern shore, with Middle Head extending 500 m to the south. The beach is moderately well exposed to the southerly waves, which average over 1.5 m and break across a 50-100 m wide surf zone, which increases in energy east along the beach (Fig. 4.122). A permanent rip runs out against the eastern rocks, with usually a central beach rip and smaller rip against the western rocks. The beach is backed by a 100 m wide foredune cut by a creek in the centre and a 40 m high blowout in the east. The dune is backed by an 800 m wide wetland with the creek flowing through the centre, then valley sides rising to 200 m. The walking track runs along the beach, with a campsite at the western end, before climbing the rear of Middle Bluff.
