Beach T 569 commences on the western side of the 300 m wide point. It continues west for 600 m to the mouth of South East Cape Rivulet and the beginning of a section of densely vegetated high rocky shore that initially trends 1 km to the south. This headland partly protects the western end of the beach lowering waves to less than 1.5 m. The surf zone narrows to 50 m with rips to either end, the western rip incorporating flow from the creek. A reef off the eastern headland causes waves to break and run in towards the beach resulting in seaward flow of return water outside the surf zone (Fig. 4.116). The track follows the beach to a campsite at the creek mouth, and then heads up the steep western slopes to follow the 100-200 m high ridgeline.
