Little Lagoon Beach (T 547) begins 150 m to the west at the end of the dolerite rocks. It curves gently to the southwest for 2.3 m to a cuspate foreland formed in lee of The Images, a cluster of dolerite rocks, reefs and islets that extend 700 m off the end of the beach (Fig. 4.95). The beach receives waves averaging over 1.5 m at the eastern end, which decrease slightly to the lee of the reefs. The waves maintain a rip-dominated 100 m wide surf zone, with a strong permanent rip against the eastern rocks and usually several beach rips. A 10-15 m high foredune runs the length of the beach, with rising heath-covered slopes behind the central-northern end of the beach, and the usually blocked mouth of Blackswan Lagoon towards the southern end. A vehicle track also reaches the northern end of the beach.
Beach Length: 2.3km
