Beach T 540 commences on the southern side of the bluff and trends to the southwest for 700 m terminating against the 500 m wide headland that forms the northern boundary of Southport Lagoon and inlet. The beach faces southeast into the prevailing southerly swell and receives waves averaging about 1.5 m which maintain a transverse bar and rip systems, with usually a rip against the northern rocks and one to two beach rips. It is backed by a few trees to either end and heath-covered Pleistocene ‘glacial’ dunes from the lagoon.
Beach Length: 0.7km
