Surveyors Bay lies 3 km to the southeast and 1.5 km north of Huon Point, the entrance to the estuary, with Surveyors Point forming the northern boundary. The curving 600 m wide bay is bordered and backed by partly cleared slopes rising to 200 m at Camden Hill to the rear. The 350 m long beach (T 509) receives waves averaging up to 0.5 m, which maintain a usually cusped reflective beach, backed by a row of holiday cottages.
