Three Hut Point is a low cobble recurved spit located at the base of slopes that rise 340 m to Mount Royal. Beach T 500 commences on the northern side of the spit and curves to the north for 200 m as a narrow high tide cobble beach, with the highway running right along the rear of the northern half of the beach. Ridged sand flats extend out to the point with a boat ramp located on the point.
