Fancy Bay is a curving 1 km wide bay located on the northern side of Porpoise Head. Within the bay beach BI 75 curves for 1.3 km as a semi-circular west-facing beach. Sand flats fill the bay extending beyond the head to link with the Porpoise Head sand flats. They are covered by up to 20 well developed sand ridges. The beach is backed by a low 100-200 m wide foredune area, with a central 5 ha wetland and rising ground behind. A vehicle track runs along the rear of the beach.
