Rat and Killora bays are two adjoining bedrock embayments located south of Bligh Point. They both face east across a narrow 1.5 km wide section of the D’Entrecasteaux Channel and receive low westerly wind waves.
Rat Bay is a small rocky bay with a gap in the centre containing 60 m long beach BI 87. The beach is located at the mouth of a small creek that descends from the backing 200 m high slopes. It consists of a mixture of sand and rocks, with rocky shore extending out 50 m on either side, with sand flats in between. Sloping tree-covered bluffs back the beach with the Killora Road running around the top of the bluffs and a few houses on the backing slopes.
