Beach T 496 lies 1.5 km further south on the northern side of the slightly protruding Whaleboat Rocks. The 200 m long beach extends to either side of a small creek and consists of a cobble high tide beach fronted by a narrow band of rock flats then ridged sand flats extending 400 m offshore. A band of tall trees, then sloping farmland and some houses back the beach, with the highway paralleling the shore 300 m inland.
