Beach BI 29 is the longest of the Cloudy Bay beaches. It commences 3 km north of East Cloudy Head in lee of Cloudy Reef. The beach trends to the north, then curves slightly to the northwest for 3.5 km terminating at the mouth of Sheepwash Creek. The southern corner of the beach, called Cloudy Corner, is sheltered from waves by the reef and its orientation and usually receives very low swell with reflective to low tide terrace conditions prevailing. It is backed by vegetated slopes rising to over 200 m with the small Imlays Creek draining across the southern end of the beach where a vehicle track reaches the beach. Wave height increases gradually up the beach averaging 1.5 m by the northern end. The surf zone widens to 100 m in the north and rips begin to dominate along the northern 1 km of shore. Sheepwash Creek maintains an area of unstable sand either side of its shifting mouth, which can reach as far as the northern boundary, a 20 m high grassy headland. The beach is backed by two to three grassy foredunes, then an area of earlier vegetated parabolic dunes that extend up to 1 km inland and reach 30 m in height, with the creek running between the ridges and dunes. The Cloudy Bay Road terminates at the northern headland where there is a car park, camping area and toilets.
