Inlet Beach (BI 32) is located on the western side of the bayshore, 500 m south of the inlet. The 400 m long beach faces east across the bay and is bordered and backed by densely wooded slopes, with rocks bordering either end and outcropping in the centre. A vehicle track terminates at the northern end of the beach. The beach is moderately sheltered, with waves averaging just over 1 m. These maintain a low tide terrace, however the tidal channel and shoals from the inlet can flow past the beach causing both major changes in the size and width of the beach as well as bar and wave conditions off the beach. The inlet channel sometimes runs along the beach eroding the beach back to the rocks and forming a strong tidal rip. During these conditions it can also produce a long right-hand break over the tidal shoals off the beach.
Beach Length: 0.4km
General Hazard Rating: 6/10
