Stinking Beach extends northeast along the rocky shore from Oak Point. Beach BI 48 is a 50 m long pocket of sand and rocks located in a 50 m wide gap in the rocks. The beach curves for 80 m inside the bay with the whole small embayment filled with sand flats and backed by moderate densely vegetated slopes. Beach BI 49 commences 100 m to the north and occupies the eastern end of a 500 m wide west-facing embayment. It is a low, narrow 500 m long high tide beach fronted by 500 m wide sand flats, which are ridged close to shore. It is backed by both heath- and tree-covered slopes rising gradually to the Lighthouse Road 1 km to the east.
