The main Hawley Beach (T 1160) is a double crenulate 750 m long, east-facing beach, lying between the low boundary rocks in the north and the boulders and rocks of Taroona Point to the south, together with a central cluster of dolerite rocks, which induce a slight foreland. A narrow reserve and the road parallel the back of the beach providing good access the length of the beach, with houses behind. The beach receives waves usually less than 0.5 m, which with the 3 m tide range produce a narrow high tide beach, fronted by a 200 m wide continuous sands flat, with rocks scattered along the high tide beach and extending off the central rocks.
Beach Length: 0.75km
General Hazard Rating: 2/10
